Thomas Wakeford is an on-the-rise womenswear label, based in London and spearheaded by designers Thomas Wakeford and Raphael Castelmezzano. The pair’s respective backgrounds give them an edge over other labels – Wakeford has a MA in Womenswear from the legendary Central Saint Martin’s, while Castelmezzano has primarily worked in styling. The pair first initially worked together when Wakeford approached Castelmazzano about styling his graduate collection.

The pair’s individual strengths have resulted in a collection that explores the masculine/feminine juxtaposition from a new perspective. Focusing on more traditional, lean silhouettes, the duo instead challenges traditional design with fabrics and color. Their Spring 2012 collection is a mix of blindingly bright and borderline-eyesore starburst prints in teal, tangerine, and lemon, against black and white, and stiff metallics. The boys also experiment with silks, rubber, lamé, and leathers, perfectly embodying their self-described “crude and contrasting” aesthetic.

For their Spring 2012 collection, Eastpak has teamed up once again with beloved menswear designer Kris Van Assche for a range of totes, satchels and backpacks. The collection features plenty of black, shades of charcoal grey, accompanied by hints of dark tangerine, forest green, and deep chocolate brown, with plenty of buttery leathers and traditional canvas fabrics.

London Fashion Week is perhaps most notable for it’s constant stream of emerging talent on the runways each season, and Brazilian expat Lucas Nascimento is no exception. Following his completion of the Fashion Design program at the London College of Fashion, Nascimento went on to work for notable names like Basso & Brooke and Ports 1961. After showing at Rio Fashion Week for several seasons, Nascimento’s designs were brought to London for the first time with his SS/12 collection. For spring, Nascimento showed wearable and whimsical offerings including peplum’d trousers, lemon sorbet bright pumps, cyan accents, and color-blocked frocks. Nascimento’s collections reflect a fresh, much-needed perspective in contemporary fashion-fun and fresh, yet wearable and classic, with a penchant for exciting fabrics and detailed silhouettes. Just this month, Nascimento received sponsorship for his work from the NEWGEN fund, dedicated to young designers – a sure sign that his future is indeed bright.

Minimalux couldn’t be a more appropriate name for the design brand, based in London – their designs embody a new kind of refined luxury, extravagant yet elegant.

Since 2008, the brand has begun to create a name for itself producing their simplistic, striking brand of decor and accessories. Victoria Spruce is a London-based designer, having recently graduated from the London College of Art with a MA in Womenswear Footwear. In Victoria’s latest spring collection, the designer was inspired by ‘organic, flowing, sculptures,’ evident in their soft, yet sculptural shapes and construction, the shapes seamlessly flowing as one continuous structure. Victoria’s juxtaposition of the hard and the soft is only furthered by her use of materials – soft, buttery leathers in light tones, with harder plastic and leather soles. Following the wild success of their 2005 Flowerbomb fragrance for women, the duo behind Viktor & Rolf envisioned a men’s fragrance that would do for spicy, woodsy men’s fragrances what the floral notes in women’s fragrances did for Flowerbomb. Working with perfumer Olivier Polge, Spicebomb has darker, spicy notes of cinnamon, leather, tobacco, vetiver and chili, as well as sharper top notes of grapefruit, pink pepper and bergamot. The bottle, designed by Fabien Baron, resembles a hand grenade, with the fragrance spraying upon touching the trigger.

Spicebomb will be available as of January 2012, in 50 and 90ml Eau de Toilette, along with a 200ml shower gel and 100ml after shave balm. viagra

The Benetton Group has recently launched their foundation, Unhate, aiming to “contribute to the creation of a new culture of tolerance,” according to the company. In order to demonstrate their mission, the company launched a series of powerful campaigns this week, each featuring conflicting world leaders kissing one another.

The foundation has several ‘areas of intervention,’ or events where they plan to spread their message of ‘unhate’ around the world, including an upcoming Global Unhate Day, with events in 50 cities around the world.
