As if modelling for ad campaigns isn’t enough for this British phenom supermodel, Kate Moss has signed with luxury French leathergoods brand, Longchamp to design a collection of handbag range. The collaboration of the two, has been said to be a long-term friendship and partnership between Moss with Longchamp’s artistic creative director Sophie Delafontaine as two collections are expected per year. Of the collaboration, Moss said “I’ve been working with Longchamp for awhile – we just get on. It was a fabulous opportunity for me.”
The line includes 12 various styles and each named after Moss’ favourite areas in London such as Gloucester, Goldbourne, Ladbroke, Soho and after the annual musical festival, Glastonbury. Don’t be deceived by the mundane names, the company may be known for its compact foldable ‘Le Pliage’ totes, however Moss’ collection screams hard edgy rock-chick with rivets and zip detailing. The range feature zebra print – as a touch of Moss’ inner wild child – in the lining and as an add-on scarf for the handbags and the colours vary from hot pink, tan and black.
With tongue-in-cheek ad-tags like “An absolute Moss-have”, “Don’t you wish your bag was hot like Kate’s”, “Kate on my shoulder” and “My Moss Bag brings all the boys to the yard”, need we say more? The range will launch in London on February 11th.
